Trans-Al Network’s Vision

Our vision is to become “The Aluminum Network of reference”; the effective networking means by which members can develop Aluminum Transformation’s technical and technological knowledge.
 
Challenges for 2010-2013
  1. Increase the value of meeting opportunities between members and key figures in Aluminum Transformation sector.
  2. Increase the use of the main tools made available to our target customer base to further develop the technical and technological expertise of our members.
  3. Foster a higher level of cooperation among the Aluminum industry’s key players.

Mission

Trans-Al Network’s mission is to develop the technical and technological expertise of Aluminum Transformation’s companies, by collaborating with the industry’s key players and building synergy within this industry market.

Objectives

  • Bring Aluminum Transformation SMEs into the fold by fostering value-added meeting, exchange, and opportunities.
  • Make the relevant Aluminium Transformation’s strategic information more easily available to this sector SMEs.
  • Mobilise the industry’s key figures to coordinate their efforts to the benefit of Aluminum Transformation sector.

History

Incorporated in 1999, Trans-Al Network Inc. brings together nearly 220 small and medium-sized businesses and organisations specialising in aluminium transformation.

Originally operating in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, Trans-Al Network Inc. now includes three other branches in the Côte-Nord, Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec, Montérégie and Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudière areas. The group, through its SME members, helps to maintain more than 7,000 jobs with a yearly turnover of nearly $650M.

To this day, the Network's major achievement is the development of the Canadian Aluminium Industry Technological Roadmap (TRM) 2000 Edition and the accomplishment of the Canadian Aluminium Transformation Technology Roadmap (TRM) 2006 Edition. The objective of the TRM 2006 is to provide the aluminium transformation industry with information on market trends in a global context and identify technology or commercial activities offering the greatest potential for the creation of wealth.
